Shipping Updates and Import Tax Information for U.S. Customers

Last updates
Starting January 5, 2026, FedEx is increasing its clearance fees. As a result, our prices have been adjusted to reflect these increased costs.

Important Notice for U.S. Customers

Starting August 29, all packages shipped from Japan to the United States have become subject to import taxes.

Beginning October 6, our prices now include these taxes. This means that if you place your order on or after October 6, you will not need to pay any import taxes upon delivery — they are already covered in the listed price.

If you are placing an order from outside the U.S. with shipping to a U.S. address, you may be required to pay import taxes separately, as in this case our listed prices may exclude import taxes.

If you are purchasing a wristwatch or clock

Please be aware that there are currently long delays with customs clearance for items such as wristwatches and clocks. Customs processes these items separately from others, and clearance may take up to one month. Please note that these delays are not specific to our store and affect all watches/clocks shipped from Japan to the U.S.

Update on Shipping to the U.S. by Japan Post

Japan Post has currently suspended all shipments to the United States except for letters.

Letters remain exempt from import taxes. This means items such as notebooks, diaries, stickers, etc. can still be shipped via Japan Post without additional tax charges.

Other small items (e.g., keychains, jewelry) can no longer be shipped by Japan Post. Instead, they will be sent via FedEx, which requires an additional shipping fee of approximately $25.

Import taxes calculation method (for the reference)

Based on current information from the courier company, the calculation method appears to be as follows:

Total payment = Base tax rate* (min.15%) + Clearance fees**

* The base rate depends on the item category. For example: clock approx. 24%, brass jewelry 0%, etc.
** Clearance fees vary by courier. For FedEx:
    - total payment is less than $800: the fee is 2-4% of the tax amount (not the total cost) or $15-$30, whichever is greater;
    - total payment is over $800: the fee is 2-4% of the tax amount (not the total cost) or $30-$44, whichever is greater.
There are also extra fees in some cases.
